National Lockdown

Dear Parents and Carers,

National Lockdown

At 8pm this evening the Prime Minister announced that the whole country is entering a National Lockdown and that schools will be closed to all pupils, except for the children of Critical workers and vulnerable children.

In order that we are able to effectively organise this provision, we will be closed to all pupils tomorrow and provision for Critical worker and vulnerable children will be made available from Wednesday 6th January.  Please bear with us at this time, we have only learnt of this lockdown at the same time as you and we are doing everything we can to ensure that families are fully supported at this difficult time.

A form will be available on the school website tomorrow morning and anybody who would like their child to attend as a "Critical Worker Child" will need to complete this form and return it to school to be able to access this provision.  Please see the link below to see if you are classed as a Critical Worker on the list:

We were fully prepared to be open tomorrow. We are very sad that all of our pupils will not be able to attend school but understand that lockdown is necessary to help slow down the spread of Covid and keep everyone as safe as possible. However, we have seen first-hand the effect that lockdown has had on pupil learning and will be providing daily home learning for every class on the school website. It is really important that your child engages with this work every day during lockdown to build on all the brilliant learning that has taken place since the return to school in September and help prevent any further gaps in their knowledge. Teachers will be in school every day to support their learning and provide feedback.

I dearly hope that this lockdown will slow down the spread of the virus and will enable school to re-open for all pupils as stated by the Prime Minister after the February half term.

I pray that you all keep safe and well and I will be in touch as soon as I have any further information.

With very best wishes,

Nicola Tippen
