Reception Genesis

Christmas Lunch!

Reception were all fantastic in the Nativity! We are so proud of you!

Father Tony! Father Tony came in to talk to us about how we can prepare for Advent. He told us how we can prepare at school and home, as well as what the church does in preparation.

Christmas Science Day! We made exploration bottles and learnt all about magnets! We had so much fun investigating!

Wellie Wednesday! We made a GIANT Gingerbread Man out of natural resources this week!

Road Safety Week - We learnt how to safely cross the road with Stop, Look, Listen and Think. We explored how zebra and pellican crossings work and had a practise outside. Miss Hall pretended to be the traffic light! We also learnt about wearing bright colours in the dark to be seen, wearing a helmet when riding bikes/scooters and being in a car seat with your seatbelt on when in a car.

Decorating Gingerbread Men! We decorated Gingerbread Men as this is our story for the next few weeks! We helped make the icing and added chocolate buttons for the eyes and buttons. They were so yummy!

A visit from a dentist! We learnt how to keep our teeth clean and how to prevent cavities! She showed us how to brush our teeth properly and which food and drinks have lots of sugar in, which is bad for our teeth.

A visit from firefighter Kate! We learnt a lot about being a firefighter. Kate taught us to ring 999 if we see a fire, to always wear a seatbelt in the car, to test our smoke alarms at home and so much more! She also told us all about her job!
