Inspiration, Celebration and Education

National Space Day 3rd May 2019

On Friday the 3rd May we celebrated National Space Day! National Space Day is observed annually on the first Friday in May. This day is dedicated to the extraordinary achievements, benefits and opportunities in the exploration and use of space. The aim of National Space Day is to 'promote math, science, technology and engineering education in young people to inspire them to pursue a career in science, especially a career in space-related jobs.' We had a great day exploring space! We began by all meeting in the hall to blast off to space together! Then we went back to our classrooms to learn more about space including; exploring planets, learning about the work of astronauts, creating rockets and so much more! Everyone involved had a fantastic day!

Year 3's Sky Maps

We drew stars, planets, constellations and meteors.  Can you guess what are star signs are from the constellations we have drawn?
