Uniform Information

As a school, we are proud of the high standards demonstrated by our pupils each day. One of the ways we promote a sense of belonging, pride, and readiness for learning is through our school uniform. Uniform helps children feel part of our community, reduces pressure around clothing choices, and teaches important life skills such as responsibility, presentation, and adherence to expectations. These are valuable qualities that will support our children throughout their education and later in employment. The Department for Education strongly encourages schools to have one because it can promote school identity, belonging, community and an appropriate tone for education.

At St Thomas More's Catholic Primary School, the requirements for our school uniform are decided by the school's Local Governance Committee. High priority is given to cost and value for money, ensuring that school uniform is never a barrier to:

  • applying to the school
  • attending school
  • participating in school activities, including PE and extracurricular activities

All school staff support the children's adherence to the school's Uniform Policy and ensure that our school uniform reflects our common identity and the pride we take in representing our school.

Opportunities to buy, swap or donate school uniform are supported by The Friends of St Thomas More (PTA). Please do make contact with the school, via the school office, if you require help obtaining items of school uniform, as we can make this process easier for our families.
