World Book Day 7th March 2019

World Book Day

St Thomas More celebrated World Book Day in style with lots of great creative costumes from both the children and the teaching staff. We had lots of mischievous Gangsta Grannies, a few magical Harry Potters, plenty of elegant princess' and a number of ridiculous Roald Dahl characters. During the day the children began by buddying up, listening and reading to other year groups. After this classes completed activities based around books, characters or authors, for example Reception created descriptions of pirates in underpants, Year 2 designed character profiles about their costumes, while Year 3 wrote their own riddles about traditional tales. The highlight of the day however was the parent pop-in, which parents and family visited school to share a book with their child. A great day showing the love all of the children in our school have for books and for reading.
