St Thomas More Catholic Primary School

Inspiration, Celebration and Education

A Christmas Message from Mrs Tippen

It has been a very busy, successful term for the children, staff and families of St Thomas More! As always, we have been focusing on providing the best learning experiences we can within the classroom for our children and have had some very positive feedback from the Local Authority on the education that we provide here; something that we are very proud of.

There are too many special experiences to celebrate here but amongst other things…

Children have enjoyed a wealth of educational visits from Year 5 visiting the Imperial War Museum in London, Year 3 taking part in a writing workshop at the Roald Dahl Museum in Great Missenden to Reception and Nursery hopping on the Perrygrove Railway and seeing Father Christmas actually coming down the chimney!

We have welcomed new volunteers from Pates to hear readers, supported School Council raising money for the West Midlands Air Ambulance, sent our Chaplaincy Team for commissioning at Clifton Cathedral and benefitted greatly from the Friends of St Thomas More organising a brilliant disco and Christmas Fayre.

If you need reminding of any of these exciting events, browse through this term’s newsletters on the website again – they are jam packed with all the memorable things that have made this term so special. Thanks also to our Media Club for their help with writing the Newsletters!

In the midst all of this, we are mindful of the need to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas. We will be celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ with our families and sharing in the joy that this brings.  Our children have already been sharing this joy through their wonderful singing in school and at local nursing homes within our Parish.

I would like to thank all parents, families, children and friends of St Thomas More for your continued support. We truly are an amazing school and I wish you and your loved ones a very happy and peaceful Christmas and look forward to an exciting New Year full of health and happiness.

Mrs Tippen
